Love Rising Farm

Once upon a time, I lived in Southern California and watched the movie The Biggest Little Farm. I caught the Farm envy bug. I read the book Animal,  Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver,  and my hunger grew. My friend Anne started sending me photos of the tomatoes, berries, peppers, and salad greens she grew, and eventually I said, That's IT! We are moving somewhere with land and rain, where we can grow food.

We loved Asheville, NC. My firstborn son, Ben, was going to maintain and eventually inherit the farm. and moved here during COVID. My three boys were thrilled to build the chicken coop and make garden terraces. My firstborn son, Ben, was going to maintain and eventually inherit the farm.

Then tragedy hit many people, Hurricane Helene, depression, and many challenges befell our family.

And we lost Ben. Words cannot describe the grief that is the receipt of love.

Divorce and death are extremely challenging, and I thought I would have to sell the farm. 

Many in the world are facing devastation. We have a choice - do we let our dreams die with loss or do we create a new one?

WNC is a strong community; my friend Beth introduced me to Garry, an organic farmer, and together we decided to start a CSA and create a new future.

We farm with beyond organic practices: grow our own fertility- no toxic chemicals ever-, minimal till with fall cover crops, do not use plastic weed blockers, feed fertilizer friends (cows, goats, chickens) only organic feed in addition to being pasture raised. When you know better, you do better. You can trust we are doing better.

Our dream in addition to growing nourishing food is to have wonderful community gatherings - seasonal Farm Dinners and monthly Garden Parties- that nourish the mind, body, and heart.  Those who have attended our gathering have raved about the quality of people and beautiful setting.

We wish to gather people who want to share (or be around people who want to share) their skills that are a part of raising the frequency of the world in a time of chaos. We believe, no matter what happens, we can create, and life is abundant.

Together, with your support of our CSA and us supporting you with organically grown food, I believe we can create resilience and restore each other.

Our mission is to create love and community connection through local, healthy, nourishing food and gatherings.

Being here is one of the greatest joys of my life, and the peace provided by Love Rising Farm allows me to also make a difference in the world for millions of others through my non profit work to improve the food supply and create healthy communities. By supporting us you are supporting millions more.

So here we are, making a new beginning, for the community, by the community, trusting in God that Ben is with us and  love is always rising.

As a member of our CSA  you will be invited to join us for a farm-to-table dinner or Garden Party Teas once a month and experience the best of Love Rising Farm. Our meals feature locally sourced ingredients, including produce from our farm. You'll enjoy a delicious meal in a beautiful outdoor setting, surrounded by the sights and sounds of our working farm. Best of all, you will meet wonderful people with passions to share, and we will have guest speakers to enrich our lives, improve our health, and raise our frequencies.

Come harvest vegetables at Love Rising Farm and help us pack the CSA boxes on Fridays. We may entice you to pull some weeds, play with the puppy, or feed the chickens. too.  It's a fun, educational, and chicken-themed activity for the whole family, and you'll take home some fresh produce you picked yourself.

Sign up for a CSA share and receive a weekly delivery of fresh, organic produce from Love Rising Farm. Our CSA shares are available seasonally and include a variety of vegetables and optional eggs. It's a great way to support local agriculture and eat healthy, delicious food.

We request that you pick up your share on Friday after 4 pm. If you cannot we have a delivery option, prepaid for 20 weeks of the CSA  shares. Your commitment for 20 weeks of fresh, local, healthy food,  allows us the ability to keep on growing and sowing seeds.
